Balcones Texas Rye is a rye whiskey from Texas, bottled at 100 proof (50% ABV) in a 70cl bottle. It was first released in early 2018 as part of the distillery's 10th anniversary celebrations and is intended to be a permanent part of the range.
The mash bill includes 80% raw Elbon grain from north and northwest Texas, together with crystal, chocolate and roasted rye varieties. The spirit was aged for just under two years in new American oak barrels, and it is non-chill-filtered.
