Ballantine's Gold Seal Special Reserve is a 12 year old blended Scotch whisky, sold in a one-litre bottle. Its colour is gold.
The nose is peaty and coastal, with seashells, seaweed, plain peat smoke and wet rocks, before a herbal side comes through. On the palate it is round, creamy, fruity and resinous, with peat that grows steadily stronger.
The finish is very long, peaty and peppery, with a rounded fruitiness.
