This is a 12 year old Ballechin from 2013, bottled at 48.2% in a 70cl bottle. It was matured entirely in Jurançon wine casks, which pair the distillery's peated Highland malt with the sweet wine of south-west France.
The nose is fruity, with ripe stone fruit, floral honey, fresh herbs and soft peat smoke. White fruit and golden honey come through on the palate, with gentle spice and a smoky backbone. The finish is long, with honeyed fruit, herbal freshness and warming peat.
