1st fill Monbazillac hogshead
A 12 year old Highland single malt from Ballechin, made from heavily peated malt and bottled at 48.2% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It is part of the Itineraires series. The 2013 whisky was matured entirely in first fill Monbazillac hogshead casks, which add the honeyed fruit of the sweet wines of south-west France to the peat smoke. The nose combines balanced peat smoke with ripe orchard fruit, acacia honey and candied citrus, with floral and herbal touches. On the palate, assertive peat sits alongside poached pear, apricot and candied lemon. The finish is long and gently smoky, with honey, dried fruit and herbs.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
