Ballindalloch – Aberdeen Angus 150th Anniversary Single Malt (70cl, 50%)

This is a Speyside single malt from the Ballindalloch estate distillery, made to mark 150 years of Aberdeen Angus cattle breeding on the estate. It is a limited edition bottled at 50% ABV in a 70cl bottle. The barley is grown on the estate and fertilised naturally by the historic herd. The whisky was matured in first-fill bourbon barrels and Oloroso sherry casks, and it is non-chill-filtered and of natural colour. The nose brings fruit salad, ripe banana and a hint of tangerine as it opens in the glass. The palate has vanilla, milk chocolate and more fruit, rather like chocolate-covered raisins. The finish is long, with wood tannins coating the mouth.
