This is a 10-year-old Balmenach bottled by Signatory as number 79 in its 100 Proof Edition, at 57.1% ABV. It was distilled in 2016 and bottled in 2026.
The whisky matured in first-fill Oloroso sherry butts.
The nose offers dark raisins and sultanas, figs and dates, caramel and toffee, with a little wax and honey and floral Speyside notes behind. The palate is full Oloroso sherry with dark fruit cake, chocolate and coffee, cinnamon and nutmeg, and an oily malt texture. The finish is long and warm, with dry cocoa, oak, spice and lingering sherried fruit.
