Balmenach – 10 Year Old 2016 1st Fill Oloroso Sherry Butts Signatory Vintage 100 Proof Edition #79 (57.1%)

This is a ten-year-old Speyside single malt from Balmenach, bottled by Signatory Vintage as Edition #79 of its 100 Proof series. It was distilled in 2016 and bottled at 57.1% ABV. The final stage of maturation took place in first fill Oloroso sherry butts. It is non-chill-filtered and has no added colouring, so its honey tone comes from the casks alone. The nose offers dark dried fruit and soft chocolate with floral touches. On the palate, sweet caramel and cereal meet a firm spiciness and hints of nuts. The finish is long, with tobacco and deep fruit.
