This is a single cask Balmenach from Speyside, distilled on 10 October 2013 and matured for twelve years in a first-fill Pedro Ximenez sherry barrel. Best Dram bottled cask 1795 on 4 November 2025 at a cask strength of 55.8% ABV, filling 149 bottles.
The sweet, dark PX sherry meets Balmenach's heavy, powerful spirit, adding raisins, dates, dark chocolate and a near syrupy sweetness.
The nose offers pickled plums, creamy milk chocolate and dark cane sugar with a hint of malt, then blackberries, black cherries and blackcurrants. The palate is powerful and oily, with sweetness like lightly caramelised cane sugar and milk chocolate, followed by plums and berries.
