This is an 11 year old Speyside single malt from Balmenach Distillery in Cromdale, a single cask release in the Old Train Line series from the German bottler Jack Wiebers Whisky World. It was distilled in 2010 and bottled in 2021.
It is bottled at natural strength, without chill filtration or added colouring. The spirit is robust, heavy and waxy in character.
The nose has toasted barley, green apples, floral honey and lemon oil. The palate is full-bodied and waxy, with buttered pastry, ripe pears, sweet malt and gentle pepper. The finish is long and clean, with malted grain, citrus zest and dry oak.
