Balmenach 24 Year Old Wormtub Single Cask Oloroso Sherry Butt - That Boutique-y Whisky Company (70cl, 61.4%)

This is a 24 year old single cask Balmenach from Speyside, bottled by That Boutique-y Whisky Company. It belongs to the first Wormtub Single Cask series from Atom Brands, which features Scottish distilleries with traditional wormtub condensers. The whisky matured throughout in a single oloroso sherry butt. It was bottled at a natural cask strength of 61.4% ABV, in a 70cl bottle, without chill-filtration or added colour. The cask gave 309 bottles. The nose combines green apple, condensed milk, creamy malt, brown butter and vanilla fudge. On the palate are creamy malt, mandarin, caramelised tropical fruit, toffee popcorn and old oak, with pepper and nutmeg. The finish brings toffee, barley sugar, plum jam, milk chocolate and charred oak.
