This is a wheated bourbon from Bardstown Bourbon Company in Bardstown, Kentucky, bottled in bond at 100 proof (50% ABV) in a 750ml bottle. It is part of the Origin Series and is made from the company's own distillate.
The mashbill is 68% corn, 20% wheat and 12% malted barley, with wheat in place of the more usual rye. As a bottled in bond whisky it was distilled in a single season by one distiller at one distillery, and aged for at least four years in a bonded warehouse.
Baked peach, cream, cocoa and lemon zest show on the nose. The palate brings stone fruit, toffee, grapefruit, maple syrup and cinnamon, and the finish is medium to long, with wheat bread, charred oak and green peppercorn.
