Bardstown Bourbon Co. Origin Series Wheated Bourbon is a six-year-old Kentucky straight bourbon, distilled, aged and bottled on site at the distillery in Bardstown, in a 75cl bottle at 53% ABV.
The mashbill is 53% corn, 39% wheat and 8% malted barley, and the spirit goes into barrels at 108 proof, well below the industry maximum of 125 proof.
Ripe apricot, orange zest, vanilla cream and crème brûlée mark the nose. The palate brings buttercream, butterscotch, caramel and golden raisin, with oak and white pepper. The finish is warming, with cinnamon, allspice, charred oak and lemon oil.
