Bardstown Bourbon Company Origin Series Wheated is a Kentucky straight bourbon aged for six years and bottled in bond at 100 proof, or 50% ABV. It is part of the distillery's inaugural Origin Series from 2023.
The mash bill is 68% corn, 20% wheat and 12% malted barley. Bottled-in-bond means it was made by one distiller in a single season and aged in a bonded warehouse.
Peach bread, creamy vanilla and light honey mark the nose. The palate adds toffee, cocoa and a lemon or almond zest, with a soft peppery warmth, and the finish is warm and dry with wheat bread, light oak char and a touch of sweet cream.
