Barolo DOCG Brunate - Mario Marengo

A red wine from the Brunate cru in Barolo, made solely from Nebbiolo grapes harvested by hand. It matures for a long period in large oak casks, developing deep garnet colour with orange reflections as it ages. The nose offers ripe red fruit, faded flowers, tobacco and sweet spice, with hints of leather and wet earth. On the palate it has good body, firm tannins, fresh acidity and a long finish with chocolate and coffee notes. It suits red meat, game and aged cheese, and is already drinking well while retaining ageing potential.
