Vigna Pugnane Barbera d'Alba 2024 from Mario Marengo is an immediate, sincere Barbera. It is bright ruby red with violet reflections, with aromas of ripe cherry, plum and small red fruits, sweet spices and a herbaceous note. The palate has vibrant acidity, present but well-smoothed tannins and a medium body, with a pleasant, fresh finish. It pairs easily with rustic cooking such as cured meats, ragù pasta, roast white meats and medium-aged cheeses. Serve around 14-16 °C.
