An Armagnac of great charm, the result of long ageing. It is deep amber with coppery reflections.
The nose opens on dried fruit and candied citrus, then moves to leather, sweet tobacco and a hint of rancio typical of very old bottles. The palate is warm and enveloping, soft at the centre, supported by a slender tannic texture and a pleasant spicy persistence.
The finish is long, with vanilla, orange peel and earthy notes. It suits after-dinner meditation, dark chocolate, aged cheeses or as a contemplative digestif, served slightly cool in wide glasses.
