This is Bell's 8 Year Old, a blended Scotch from the 2000s, released in a millennium glass decanter to mark the new millennium. The blend draws on up to 40 malt and grain whiskies matured in oak, built around the malty core of Blair Athol.
Blair Athol distillery stands in Pitlochry, Perthshire. It was established in 1798 and was acquired and re-opened by Arthur Bell & Sons in 1933.
The nose opens with sweetness, honey, vanilla and light wood. The palate is sweet and approachable, with wood, honey, peaches and vanilla.
