Bellevoye Rouge Grand is a French triple malt, a blend of three single malts that Jean Moueix and Alexandre Sirech regard as the best in France, from the north, the east and the south-west. It is made entirely from unpeated malt.
The final maturation takes place in French oak casks that previously held Saint-Émilion Grand Cru wine from Château Clos de Sarpe. Each cask has held only one vintage, for six months, and is filled with whisky in spring, before the summer heat. The wine therefore contains no sulphur.
These casks give the whisky a coppery tone, with black fruit, spice and a soft structure.
