This is a 37 year old Ben Wyvis single malt distilled in 1965, bottled at 44% ABV in a 70cl bottle. Only 200 bottles were filled, supplied in a lockable wooden case. Ben Wyvis was started by the Invergordon distillery and built on the Invergordon grain distillery complex, mainly to supply Invergordon blends. It was dismantled in 1977, and its stills were later used at Glengyle. Whyte & Mackay had bottled what was thought to be the last casks in 1999, then found one more in their warehouses. Its owner had defaulted on storage fees, so the cask was repossessed and became this bottling.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
