Bennachie 10 Year Old is a blended malt, labelled as a vatted malt, bottled at 43% ABV by the Bennachie Scotch Whisky Company. It was bottled in the late 1990s.
Bennachie was a revived brand, taking its name from a long-defunct distillery near Aberdeenshire. The whisky was put together from a blend of single malts to echo the taste of the original Bennachie spirit.
The nose offers barley, cereal, vanilla, butterscotch and light florals, with lemon zest and green apple coming through with water. The palate balances mild spice and bitter citrus with oak and greengage, and the finish is medium, with dried fruits, heather honey and a drift of smoke.
