BenRiach The Smoky Twelve is a 12 year old Speyside single malt bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle. It is matured in a combination of bourbon casks, sherry casks and Marsala casks, and it won Double Gold at the World Spirits Competition in 2021.
The nose has roasted notes of grilled orange, toasted almonds and smoked vanilla pods, with a breath of peat smoke above. On the palate there is dark chocolate with hints of sweet berries, smoked ham, and lemon and orange peel caramelised in sugar. The finish is long, with strongly roasted cocoa beans and smoked orange staying on the palate.
