Benriach – 1991 32 Year Old Exceptional Cask (48.3%)

This is a 32 year old Speyside single malt from Benriach, selected for the Exceptional Casks series and bottled at 48.3% vol. It is non-chill-filtered and has no added colouring. The nose gives banana bread, musty attics, leather and wax, lifted by fresher fruit. On the palate there is spiced custard and cardamom, then praline and dried apricots, with a hint of wood smoke arriving unexpectedly. The finish is lingering, with spice and fruit.
