Benriach – 1999 22 Years Old Connoisseurs Choice (Gordon & MacPhail) (70cl, 57.8%)

This is a 22 year old Benriach single malt from Gordon & MacPhail's Connoisseurs Choice series, in a 70cl bottle at a cask strength of 57.8%. It was distilled on 2 August 1999, matured in a refill sherry butt and bottled on 30 May 2022. The outturn was 494 bottles. The nose is a fine mix of milk chocolate, maple syrup, raisins and cinnamon. The palate opens with spice, then turns sweeter and fruitier, with figs, Seville oranges and a peppery note. The finish leans towards toffee, cinnamon roll and spice.
