BenRiach – 21 Year Old (70cl, 46%)

This is a 21 year old Speyside single malt from BenRiach, bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle. It is made from a mix of unpeated and peated spirit. The whisky matured for at least twenty-one years in four types of cask: bourbon barrels, sherry casks, virgin oak casks and Bordeaux red wine casks. The whisky from each cask type is married together, and the long maturation lets the Speyside smoke soften and blend with the fruit, malt and oak. It is described as layered with orchard fruit and toasted pine wood, closing on a honey smoke finish.
