BenRiach The Twenty Five is a 25-year-old Speyside single malt, bottled at 46% without chill filtration in a 70cl bottle.
It is made from a mix of unpeated and peated malt spirit, which brings a smoky undertone to the whisky. Maturation takes place in four types of cask: sherry casks, bourbon barrels, virgin oak casks and Madeira wine casks.
The nose combines smoked apricot, dark cherry chocolate and hazelnut toffee over honeyed malt. On the palate come baked stone fruit, toasted oak spice, orange peel and cinnamon, with gentle woodsmoke. The finish is long and rich, with caramelised smoke, sherry sweetness and dried fruit.
