A 27 year old BenRiach from the Cask Edition series, distilled in 1994 and bottled in 2021. It was matured in an oloroso sherry puncheon, cask number 2059, and 659 bottles were filled at 53% in a 70cl size.
The nose offers rich maple syrup, toasted pine nuts and dark chocolate, with a very subtle, elegant smoke. The palate brings chocolate-coated lemon, candied peach, walnut bread, chestnut honey, fresh leather and roasted coffee beans.
The finish is long and full-bodied, with dried fruits and a touch of incense.
