Benriach 30 Year Old is a Speyside single malt bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle. It spent thirty years maturing in a combination of sherry, bourbon, virgin oak and Madeira casks.
The nose has ripe orchard fruits, dark chocolate and a touch of smoke, with the sherry and Madeira casks in the background. On the palate it is rich and velvety, with stewed plum, dark chocolate and toasted oak, and a subtle sweetness. The finish is very long, with dark chocolate, oak and a touch of spice, and the Madeira cask adds a gentle sweetness.
