BenRiach – Authenticus Peated 30 Years Old 1986 (70cl, 46%)

Authenticus is a peated 30 year old Speyside single malt from BenRiach, distilled in 1986 and bottled on 30 October 2016 at 46% in a 70cl bottle. It is a limited edition and follows the 21 and 25 year old releases of the same name. The style dates from the Seagram years, when peated Speyside malt was made for the owner at the time. The nose is earthy, with vanilla, peat smoke, peppermint, buttery pastry and dense oak spice. Peat leads the palate, then gives way to mint leaves, dark chocolate, tobacco leaf, a trace of rancio and firm oak. The finish is long, smoky and spicy.
