The BenRiach Malting Season Third Edition is a 10 year old single malt from BenRiach Distillery in Speyside. It is the third annual release marking the distillery's floor maltings, which have been in operation for over 120 years.
The barley is Concerto, malted by hand and distilled in the autumns of 2012 and 2013, then bottled in 2023. It matured in first-fill ex-bourbon casks and virgin oak casks, and the 10 year average age combines 9.5 and 10.5 year old stocks. Bottled at 48.3% in a 70cl bottle.
The nose offers fresh barley, orchard fruit, bergamot, pear and meadowsweet honey. The palate is creamy malt with clementine, floral honey and gentle barley spice, and the medium-long finish brings apricot, malted almond and a trace of wild cherry.
