Benriach – Peated Quarter Cask (70cl, 46%)

Benriach Peated Quarter Cask is a Speyside single malt distilled from peated malted barley and matured entirely in quarter casks. The smaller casks bring the whisky and the wood into closer contact, which gives depth of flavour in less time. It is bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle, non-chill-filtered and of natural colour. The nose offers woodsmoke rising to burning heather, with ripe orchard fruit, peach, cinnamon sugar and a light note of fresh barley. On the palate, peat smoke is softened by smouldering embers, green pear and nectarine, with oak, vanilla, white pepper and a touch of lime, ending crisp and smoky.
