BenRiach Peated Quarter Cask is a peated Speyside single malt, bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle. It is matured in quarter casks and has a bright straw-gold colour.
Peat leads the nose, with notes of boot polish, bonfire and scorched earth. Baked citrus and chocolate-chip cookie follow.
The palate is creamy yet fresh, with earthy, smoked-herb character, then dense vanilla, cocoa and toffee apple. The aftertaste brings sooty peat, menthol and cocoa.
