A peated single malt from BenRiach, bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle. It was matured in quarter casks, small barrels holding just 125 litres, and this maturation is said to have intensified the smoky character further.
The nose offers candied peel and caramelised green pears, with a distant touch of eucalyptus, black vanilla pods and fresh white pepper set against rich oak. The colour is burnished gold. On the palate, crisp lemon zest and sweet oak spice come dusted with icing sugar, while ripe pears and honeyed apricots join stewed barley to give the long palate real depth.
