This is a peated 21-year-old Speyside single malt from Benriach, distilled in 1997 and bottled on 22 May 2018 at 46% in a 70cl bottle.
It matured for at least 21 years in four types of cask: ex-bourbon barrels, new oak, Oloroso sherry and Pedro Ximenez sherry. The result has a rich amber colour.
The nose is caramelised pear and toasted oak with honeyed peat and smoky pine-forest notes. The palate is soft, creamy peat with roasted orchard fruit, eucalyptus, pineapple and star anise, followed by smoky cinnamon. The finish is long, sweet and smoky.
