The Smoky Twelve is a 12 year old single malt from BenRiach, made from a mix of unpeated and peated spirit. It was matured for at least twelve years in three types of cask: bourbon barrels, sherry casks and Marsala wine casks. The whisky from each is then married together.
The colour is burnished gold. The nose is smoked vanilla, charred orange and toasted almonds. The palate offers dark chocolate, fruit peel, brown sugar and smoked oak, leading into a finish of cocoa and smoked orange.
