BenRiach – The Thirty 30 Year Old (70cl, 46%)

BenRiach The Thirty is a 30-year-old peated Speyside single malt, created under Master Blender Rachel Barrie and bottled at 46% ABV with natural colour, in a 70cl bottle. It is matured in four kinds of cask: sherry casks, bourbon barrels, virgin oak casks and Douro Valley port casks, which are then married together. Over three decades the peat smoke has mellowed and settled in with the fruit, malt and oak. The nose is usually described as stewed plum, baked orange, smoked walnut and cocoa. The palate brings dark fruit, manuka honey and chocolate raisin, and the finish is long, with complex smoked honey.
