Benriach The Twelve is a 12 year old Speyside single malt, bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle. It was matured in a combination of sherry, bourbon and port casks.
The distillery was founded by John Duff in 1898 and still floor malts its own barley. The sherry maturation brings layers of dark berry fruit.
On the nose there are ripe orchard fruits, honeyed malt and a little spice. The palate offers maraschino cherry, baked orange and hazelnut, and the finish is long, with orchard fruit, toasted oak and a gentle sweetness.
