BenRiach – The Twenty Five 25 Year Old (70cl, 46%)

BenRiach The Twenty Five is a 25-year-old Speyside single malt made from a marriage of unpeated and peated spirit. It is bottled at 46% ABV with natural colour, in a 70cl bottle. It is matured for at least 25 years in four kinds of cask: sherry casks, bourbon barrels, virgin oak casks and Madeira Island wine casks. The long maturation has softened the Speyside smoke into a mellow, caramelised character alongside baked fruit, honeyed malt and oak spice. The nose is typically described as smoked apricot, dark cherry chocolate and hazelnut toffee. The palate shows baked fruit, orange-cinnamon spice and toasted oak, and the finish is long with caramelised smoke.
