This is a Benrinnes 10 year old, distilled in 2011 and bottled in 2021 by Wilson & Morgan for their Barrel Selection series. It comes in a 70cl bottle at 46% ABV and is non-chill filtered.
After its first maturation in oak, the whisky was finished in Pedro Ximénez sherry casks. Benrinnes is a Speyside distillery.
The nose is of dried fruit, Christmas cake, toasted nuts and cinnamon, with dark chocolate. On the palate are raisins, figs and dates, alongside nutmeg, clove, honey and caramelised orange peel. The finish is long and warming, with dark chocolate, candied ginger and a dry oak edge.
