Benrinnes – 10 Year Old 2015/2026 The Old Friends 1st Fill Oloroso Hogshead

This is a ten-year-old Benrinnes single malt from the Old Friends series, bottled by Whisky Druid. It was distilled in September 2015 and bottled in 2026, having spent the decade in a first fill Oloroso sherry hogshead. The label shows Robinson Crusoe and Friday. It is a single cask release, cask 311506, filling 274 bottles, and the whisky has a deep amber colour. The nose is full of ripe dark fruit, with a pronounced sherry sweetness and nutty notes. On the palate, butterscotch and creamy toffee meet a little wood spice. The finish is long and dry, with fruity Oloroso character lingering.
