This Benrinnes from Speyside was distilled on 25 November 1982 and bottled by Signatory Vintage on 14 October 1998, after 15 years in a sherry cask. It is bottled at 43% ABV in a 35cl bottle, and 2,450 bottles were produced from the cask.
The nose is milky and creamy at first, then moves to rich sherry and toasted oak, with dried orange peel, dark chocolate, burnt cake, parsley and leather. The palate is sweet and vinous, led by caramel, with toffee, dried fruit and a touch of green tea, and a slightly oily texture. The finish is long and warming, with caramel, coffee, dark fruit, a whisper of spice and oak tannin.
