A 15 year old Benrinnes from the Flora and Fauna series, bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle. Benrinnes is a Speyside distillery.
The nose is rich, with chocolate liqueurs, a light sherry-wood note, light smoke and dense florals, often likened to vintage car upholstery. Water brings polished wood and a piney note.
It is full-bodied and very smooth, with a richly sweet, rum-like palate that stays clear of cloying. The finish is of medium length, drying slightly, with a faint peat-smoke catch and a sherried aftertaste.
