A 19-year-old single cask Benrinnes from the Old Malt Cask range of Hunter Laing, an independent bottler run by a family in Glasgow. It is bottled at 50% ABV.
The whisky was distilled in October 1997 and matured in a refill bourbon hogshead until it was bottled in September 2017. Just 274 bottles were filled.
Lemon and caramel lead the nose, with a light, dusty maltiness. On the palate come orange, chestnut and deep Highland toffee, followed by a long, lingering finish with a light herbal note.
