This Benrinnes was distilled in 1979 and bottled in 2023 by Berry Bros. & Rudd as part of its Exceptional Casks series. It is a Speyside single malt from a single hogshead, number 62, matured for more than forty years and bottled at 42.1% ABV in a 70cl bottle.
It is natural in colour and not chill-filtered, and the outturn was 198 bottles.
The nose offers honey-soaked pineapple and ripe plum with leather and elderflower. The palate brings apricot jam and stewed apple, with dry earthy tones and a light touch of cigar smoke. The finish is long, with the gentle sweetness of dried fruit and soft, mature spice.
