This Benrinnes was distilled in 1994 and spent all of its 29 years in a single first-fill sherry puncheon. Gordon & MacPhail bottled it on 18 April 2024 for the Cask Strength range of Connoisseurs Choice, and the cask gave 556 bottles at 53.3%. It is not chill-filtered and has no added colour. The nose opens with orange peel and butterscotch, then cooked raisins, spice, red berries and ripe oak, with dark fruit and a hint of ripe mango. On the palate, dense sherry sweetness meets strawberry jam, roasted hazelnuts and bitter cocoa powder, with cinnamon and black pepper. The long, warming finish keeps the pepper and cinnamon, with citrus notes and oak.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
