Benrinnes – 1996 25 Year Old Celebration of the Cask (Càrn Mòr) (53%)

This is a 25-year-old single cask Benrinnes, bottled independently by Càrn Mòr for its Celebration of the Cask series. It was distilled on 24 October 1996, matured in a single sherry butt and bottled in 2021 at a natural cask strength of 53% ABV. The outturn was 482 bottles. The sherry butt has given the whisky a deep ruby colour and a full-bodied profile. It is described as rich with sultanas, dried fruits, dark toffee and roasted nuts, alongside Christmas spices, polished oak and a touch of dark chocolate. The finish is long and lingering.
