This is a 15 year old Benrinnes from the 2006 vintage, bottled by Elixir Distillers for The Single Malts of Scotland. It was matured in a hogshead and bottled on 24 February 2022 at 55.5%, with 270 bottles filled at 70cl.
The hogshead gives a full-bodied Speyside malt that is oily, malty and elegant. The nose is warm, with honey, grain, soft citrus and a hint of spice. The palate is creamy and layered, with toffee, light vanilla and a soft bite, and the finish is long, warming and balanced.
