This is a single cask Benrinnes, distilled in 2009 and bottled in 2023 at 14 years old by Brave New Spirits for their Cask Noir series. It carries the subtitle Ruthrie The Wanderer in Medoc and is bottled at 57.6% abv in a 70cl bottle, without colouring or chill filtration.
The whisky was finished in a first fill red wine barrique from Chateau Potensac in Bordeaux, and 262 bottles were filled. Benrinnes is more usually matured in sherry casks, so the claret cask is a change for a distillery known for a gutsy, meaty spirit.
