This is a single cask Benrinnes from the Speyside, bottled by Rest & Be Thankful at 54.1% in a 70cl bottle. It matured for fourteen years entirely in an ex-sherry butt, cask 300774, after distilling on 19 January 2009. It was bottled on 6 February 2023 at cask strength, without chill-filtration or added colour, and 577 bottles were filled.
The sherry cask gives a fruit-led character with a creamy texture and touches of chocolate, nuts and herbs.
The nose combines red berries, ripe cherries, toasted almonds and hazelnuts, with a little tobacco. The palate is creamy, with dark chocolate, plums, dates and soft toffee. The long finish brings candied orange and raisins.
