Benrinnes – 2010-2022 12 Year Old Dram Mor Single Cask 302360 (70cl, 53.7%)

A cask strength Benrinnes from Speyside, distilled in 2010 and bottled in 2022 at 12 years old by Dram Mor for the Autumn 2022 outturn of their single cask range. Although Benrinnes is most often associated with sherry maturation, this one came from a first fill bourbon hogshead. It was bottled at its natural cask strength of 53.7%, giving 330 bottles. The nose is close to a white wine, with chilled chardonnay, mild tropical fruit, ripe banana and a touch of menthol. The palate is sweet and fruity with an almond marzipan coating, like angel cake with a little more kick, and the sponge cake flavour carries through the finish.
