This is a 10 year old Benrinnes, distilled in 2013 and bottled by Dràm Mòr. It was matured in a refill bourbon hogshead and released in spring 2023, with 278 bottles filled.
The nose offers sandalwood and soft hints of exotic incense, with spirit and subtle oak. The palate is full and aromatic, sweet and hot at once, with caramelised vanilla, white chocolate, white pepper and firm tannins with a lively, sparkling edge. The long finish brings roasted apples, honeydew melon, white pepper and a hint of Szechuan pepper, in step with the sweet bourbon notes.
